Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Surgery

Location: Tomball, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Surgery Department (Cardiovascular OR)
Number of Beds: 11 ORs and a Cysto room
Staff: 31 total
- Day Shift: 1 Director, 1 Charge Nurse, multiple Circulators and Surgical Techs, 3 Nurse Techs, 1 Anesthesia Tech, 1 Unit Clerk
- Night Shift: No overnight shift
Patient Ratios: 1:1
EMR System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 3 years of recent cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
On and off pump Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) experience

Preferred Qualifications

Cardiovascular OR experience
Vascular surgery experience

Carotid Endarterectomy

Work Schedule & Call

Call coverage Monday through Friday, 3 PM to 7 AM (one RN covers call; schedule may change with additional staff)
No overnight shifts on the unit
Weekend call rotation may apply once staffing increases
