Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Surgery
Location: Tomball, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Surgery Department (Cardiovascular OR)
- Number of Beds: 11 ORs and a Cysto room
- Staff: 31 total
- Day Shift: 1 Director, 1 Charge Nurse, multiple Circulators and Surgical Techs, 3 Nurse Techs, 1 Anesthesia Tech, 1 Unit Clerk
- Night Shift: No overnight shift
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- EMR System: Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 3 years of cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Cardiovascular OR experience
- Vascular surgery experience
Typical Procedures Performed
- Off Pump CABG
- On Pump CABG
- Vascular Bypass
- Carotid Endarterectomy
Work Schedule & Call
- Call coverage Monday through Friday, 3 PM to 7 AM (one RN covers call; schedule may change with additional staff)
- No overnight shifts on the unit
- Weekend call rotation may apply once staffing increases
