Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - Vascular

Location: Springfield, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Vascular Tech)
  • Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Call Requirements: Overnight and weekend call required
  • Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per 13 weeks
  • Rotation: Offsite location required on rotation (Mondays and Fridays)
  • Average Daily Volume: 20-35 procedures per day
  • Patient Population: Adult patients
  • Experience Required: No minimum years required; first-time travelers accepted
  • Dialysis Graft Study Experience: Preferred
  • Electronic Medical Record: Cerner experience required
  • Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
  • Block Scheduling: Possible but not guaranteed every week
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
  • License: Must be licensed in Illinois and physically present in IL 3 business days prior to start for fingerprinting compliance
  • Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Certifications & Qualifications

  • Certifications Preferred: ARDMS and CCI preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS): Required (AHA or RQI acceptable)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Required based on unit/specialty (AHA or RQI acceptable)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Required based on unit/specialty (AHA or RQI acceptable)
  • Competency Exam: Required for all clinical candidates
  • State License: Illinois license required with primary source verification

Special Requirements

  • Experience working with adult population required
  • Must be able to complete fingerprinting in Illinois 3 business days prior to start (cannot be done out of state)
  • Must be able to pass background checks and state-specific searches as required by Illinois regulations
  • Must comply with physical exam, drug testing, immunizations, and other health requirements as per facility policy

  • Illinois-specific criminal and offender registry searches within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually

This position is suitable for ultrasound technicians specializing in vascular studies who are flexible with call and weekend coverage and have experience with adult patients and Cerner EMR. First-time travel techs are welcome to apply.
