Job Description

• Provide specific patient care duties and unit support activities in the operating room suite.
• Anticipate needs before and during each surgical case, including assisting with dressings or cast application.
• Follow physician preference cards for case preparation.
• Perform surgical counts (towel clips, Allis, Ednas, instrument trays) and document accordingly.
• Report any discrepancies or exceptions during procedures.
• Update surgeon preference cards as needed.
• Comply with all count policies and procedures.
• Take initiative to identify problems and implement solutions to improve quality of care.
• May work additional or different shifts as requested.
• Responsible for one departmental task beyond routine duties.
• Participate in teaching and submit recommendations for process improvements or cost containment.
• May assist in cases beyond cardiovascular, including orthopedic, neurological, and robotic surgeries when no heart cases are scheduled.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist in a hospital setting, including experience within the last year.
• Strong Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience with open heart procedure expertise.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
