Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Job Description

Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a busy respiratory services department. The unit supports adult and pediatric/neonatal intensive care patients with a variety of advanced respiratory equipment and technology.

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 854
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 15-20 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds
- Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds
Patient Ratios: 10-25 patients per therapist
Equipment Used:
- GE R860 Adult ventilators
- Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
- Newport HT70 transport ventilator
- V60 Non-invasive device
- Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
Floating Areas: All critical care units and floors
Dress Code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
Schedule: Varying weekends, with at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Required Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC

Additional Information

Candidates without the required skills and certifications will not be considered.
The role involves working in a high-acuity environment including adult critical care and neonatal/pediatric units.
The unit is equipped with advanced respiratory technology and supports a variety of patient populations including trauma, stroke, neonatal intensive care, and pediatric subspecialties.

This position does not specify a requirement for prior travel experience.
