Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel Contract)

Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Schedule: Rotate weekends, no call requirements
Unit: Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED)
Number of Beds: 11

Job Description

• Must float to various FSED facilities as needed
• Work in a fast-paced emergency department setting
• Typical procedures include IV starts, 12-lead EKGs, and patient assessments
• Use of equipment such as ventilators and point-of-care lab machines
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech

Staffing & Patient Ratios

• Day Shift: 1 CNC, 1 RN
• Night Shift: 1 CNC, 1 RN
• Patient ratios: Not available

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Emergency Department (ED) nursing
• Certifications required:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
• Candidates with less than 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing will not be considered

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Free Standing Emergency Departments (FSED) preferred
