Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel Contract)
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Schedule: Rotate weekends, no call requirements
Unit: Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED)
Number of Beds: 11
Job Description
- Must float to various FSED facilities as needed
- Work in a fast-paced emergency department setting
- Typical procedures include IV starts, 12-lead EKGs, and patient assessments
- Use of equipment such as ventilators and point-of-care lab machines
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
Staffing & Patient Ratios
- Day Shift: 1 CNC, 1 RN
- Night Shift: 1 CNC, 1 RN
- Patient ratios: Not available
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Emergency Department (ED) nursing
- Certifications required:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
- Candidates with less than 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing will not be considered
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Free Standing Emergency Departments (FSED) preferred
Work Environment & Culture
