Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry
• Experience Required: Minimum 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience in a permanent position prior to travel assignment
• License Requirement: Must have a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Willingness to obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification prior to start
• References: One recent reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty is required to qualify for submission. Charge RN references accepted.

Required Qualifications & Assessments

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Background check including 7-year FCRA compliant search, education verification, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required prior to start and updated annually
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract; candidates can start with results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start
• Primary source verification of nursing license within 30 days of start

Additional Information

• Candidates must complete baseline competency exams (medication administration and ECG interpretation) at orientation with passing scores (SafeMedicate 90%, ECG 80%)
• Onboarding modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; video training must be watched before testing
• Candidates with a gap of less than 6 months since their most recent contract at this or a similar facility may be exempt from some orientation requirements
• Documentation such as photo ID, employment application with 3 years prior work history (including 2 years clinical acute care), and skills checklist are required
• Latex allergy notification required if applicable to ensure appropriate supplies are stocked
