Registered Nurse (Med/Surg) - Travel

Location: Summit, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel Nurse (Clinical Nursing)
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description

• Perform thorough and systematic patient assessments across all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Deliver competent and appropriate nursing care to medical-surgical patients.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill in emergency equipment and procedures.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes and patient progress, including patient education.
• Uphold professional practice responsibilities and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Promote patient and family-centered care, maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including use of two patient identifiers and safe transfer techniques.
• Provide individualized care for surgical patients, including assessment of reactions and understanding of procedures and anesthesia.
• Take responsibility for prioritizing and directing patient care based on patient needs and condition changes.
• Conduct pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education, involving patients and families.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Physical Requirements

• Must meet physical requirements as defined by Occupational Safety standards.
