Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights (times may change based on permanent staff scheduling)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work primarily in the Emergency Room (ER) setting.
- Must be willing to work 48-hour shifts.
- On-call as needed.
- Weekend shifts as needed; weekend block scheduling generally not accommodated but may be considered.
- Large hospital and Level I Trauma Center experience preferred.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee (State License 1 Verification and copy of professional license required).
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including recent ER experience within the last year.
- Experience working with Level I Trauma patients; trauma experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of total travel nursing experience.
- Certifications required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by AHA or ARC.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by AHA or ARC.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Advanced AWHONN certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Licensure & Certifications
- Must hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Tennessee or a multistate license compliant with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
- Driver’s license must be included with submission.
Special Requirements
- Must comply with a 100-mile radius rule (locals within 100 miles not accepted).
- Must be willing to comply with all Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at time of submission.
- Must be able to provide 2 forms of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, social security card).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year of start.
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start.
- Immunization requirements including proof of vaccines or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and TB screening.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30).
- Two recent professional references required.
- Background checks including statewide, county, federal, education verification, sex offender search, and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (for TN candidates).

- Large acute care hospital environment with Level I Trauma Center designation.
- Strict compliance with documentation and credentialing required prior to start.
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed.
- Photo badge with strict guidelines required prior to start.
- Candidates must be prepared for potential on-site fit testing and completion of facility-specific questionnaires.
This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses with prior travel experience seeking a challenging role in a Level I Trauma Center environment on night shifts.
