Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (Night Shift)

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse
• Experience Required: Minimum of 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience prior to travel
• License Requirement: Must have a permanent Ohio RN license or a compact state license in hand
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience totaling at least 18 months, including experience within the last year
• Minimum of 18 months total travel nursing experience
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current CST certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search
  • SSN trace
  • Nationwide and state criminal checks
  • Sex offender registry
  • Education verification
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months, updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (no declinations accepted)
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually
• Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start
• References: Two professional references from employment within one year, from a manager or supervisor

Orientation & Training

• Completion of online onboarding and training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Baseline competency exams in medication administration and ECG interpretation required at orientation (90% passing for medication, 80% for ECG)
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as required

Additional Notes

• Candidates can start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
• Physical exam and eye exam do not need to be updated annually if currently on assignment without a break in employment
• Flu vaccine exemptions require agency approval and facility review
• Candidates with gaps in employment longer than 6 months may need to repeat onboarding modules and competency exams
