Respiratory Therapist Travel Position - Nebraska, Lincoln

Job Summary

Seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care for newborns, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include ventilator management, arterial blood gas analysis, protocol implementation, airway management, and participation in Codes and Rapid Response calls. May perform advanced neonatal and pediatric respiratory care depending on competency.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care setting (higher of stated requirements)
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Nebraska state Respiratory Therapy license required
  • BLS certification (AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network) required
  • ACLS certification (AHA) required
  • PALS and NRP certifications preferred
  • Skills in invasive and non-invasive ventilation management, arterial blood gas analysis, airway management, and emergency response participation
  • Experience with neonatal intensive care (NICU) preferred but not required

Schedule

  • Typically 12-hour shifts (either 0630-1900 or 1830-0700)
  • Every third weekend and holidays scheduled as needed
  • No on-call requirements

Additional Information

  • May float to NICU unit if NICU experience and NRP & PALS certifications are present; otherwise, no floating
  • Orientation lasts 24 to 36 hours, with additional time if working in NICU
  • Dress code: navy blue scrub tops and medium gray scrub pants; modest shoes; neat grooming; tattoos covering profanity or violent imagery required

  • Ventilators: Bipap (Vision/V60), Philips V60, Servo ventilators
  • Heaters and humidifiers: Fisher & Paykel heaters and Airvo
  • Point of Care testing: I-Stat
  • Medication security system: Pyxis
  • Electronic medical record system: EPIC

This position is ideal for experienced respiratory therapists comfortable with a variety of patient populations and respiratory care technologies, seeking a travel assignment in Nebraska.
