Job Opportunity: Pediatric RN - Cardiac ICU
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in a Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio varies by shift and patient acuity:
- 1:1 for ICU status patients
- 1:2 for ICU status patients
- 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU patients
Required Experience & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU experience.
- Certifications required prior to or at start of assignment:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA) certified
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA certified
Required Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Texas.
- License verification and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to assignment start.
Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience working with pediatric patients in a Pediatric CVICU setting.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- Ongoing competency assessments and re-certifications are required every 1-3 years depending on the credential.
- Documentation and verifications must be current and compliant with regulatory and facility standards prior to assignment start.
