Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health (Nights)

Location: Lawton, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Participate in the formulation of patient care plans.
• Attend weekly clinical staffing and review patient treatment plans.
• Provide medication education to patients and families.
• Observe and report patients’ emotional and mental status accurately in charts.
• Conduct teaching and educational groups as scheduled.
• Train LPNs and Mental Health Technicians in charting, vital signs, patient routines, and de-escalation techniques.
• Participate actively in Performance Improvement teams or other unit task forces.
• Maintain Therapeutic Options certification.
• Serve as a positive role model in language, dress, hygiene, and behavior.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Oklahoma.
• Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
• Therapeutic Options certification (must be maintained up to date).

Preferred Qualifications

• De-escalation training.
• Recent travel nursing experience preferred but not required.

Additional Information

• Orientation for nursing travelers starts on Thursdays.
• Local candidates within 50 miles may be considered with adjusted terms.
• On-call pay applies with a minimum of 1 hour.

This position involves working night shifts in a behavioral health setting and requires strong clinical skills in psychiatric nursing, patient education, and team collaboration.
