Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Biddeford, Maine
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with experience in multiple critical care settings including ICU, ER (pediatric intubation and mechanical ventilation), Nursery (Level 1, attending high-risk C-sections and resuscitation team), and Med Surge floors. The role requires floating to all hospital areas, caring for patients ranging from newborns to adults.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Maine
- Minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Experience working with Neonate, Pediatric, High Risk, and Maternal-Fetal patients
- Experience being part of the resuscitation team
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records system
Preferred Experience
- NICU and PICU experience preferred to ensure comfort and competence with critically ill newborns and pediatric patients
Work Details
- Shift: Nights
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: 36 hours
- Call: None required
- Float Requirements: Must float to all hospital areas
Unit Information
- Approximately 159 beds in the facility
- Patient population ranges from newborns to adults
- Team-oriented environment requiring good communication skills, respectfulness, and a positive attitude
- Dress code: Scrubs of any color
Summary
This travel RRT position requires a versatile respiratory therapist comfortable working across multiple critical care areas including adult ICU, pediatric ER, and neonatal nursery. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, relevant certifications, and experience with specialized respiratory equipment and documentation systems. Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
