Description
Radiology Tech
Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging examinations.
- Explain procedures and respond to patient questions.
- Perform radiological procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Assist Radiologist and/or Fluoro Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedures.
- Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Administer IV and oral contrast media as needed and manage contrast reactions.
- Maintain radiation safety practices consistent with ALARA standards.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff.
- Perform clerical duties related to imaging workflow and quality assurance.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a specialized training program in Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Registered with the ARRT in Radiology.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, with renewal every two years.
- Minimum of 1 year experience performing radiological procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician’s office preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, radiologic equipment, procedures, and safety hazards.
- Ability to communicate clearly and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and adjust radiologic equipment as needed.
Additional Information
- Must demonstrate proper sterile technique when assisting in operating room procedures.
- Experience with PACS image management and clerical office functions is required.
- Ability to work evenings as indicated by the original shift title.
