Mammography Tech Travel Opportunity

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Mammography Tech to join a large breast imaging center. The role involves performing screening and diagnostic mammograms, advanced imaging procedures, and supporting radiologists with complex cases. The position requires floating between breast centers as needed.


Unit Details

  • Average patient volume: 38 screening mammograms and 18 diagnostic mammograms per day
  • Staffing: Approximately 10 techs on site daily
  • Equipment: GE Senographe Pristina
  • Documentation systems: Cerner, Penrad
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM; Saturdays as needed, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Floating: Required to float to other breast centers if needed
  • Patient population: Women’s imaging center, including patients with history of cancer and treatments such as lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Mammography Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist in Radiology, including experience within the last year
  • Current ARRT Radiography (R) and Mammography (M) certifications
  • BLS certification
  • Experience with screening mammograms
  • Experience working in a women’s imaging center
  • Competence in advanced mammography imaging
  • Competence in additional mammography imaging views, including magnification and spot compression views
  • Experience demonstrating and confidently presenting complicated mammographic cases to radiologists

  • Schedule offers weekday hours with occasional Saturdays as needed
