Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Department: Respiratory Services
- Number of Beds: 854
- Number of Staff: 120
- Shifts:
- Day Shift: 15-20 RRTs for Adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
- Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for Adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
- Patient Ratios: 10 - 25 patients per therapist
- Equipment Used:
- GE R860 Adult ventilators
- Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
- Newport HT70 transport ventilator
- V60 Non-invasive device
- Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Cerner
- Floating Assignments: All Critical Care units and floors
- Dress Code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
- Weekend Requirement: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Required Qualifications
- Current North Carolina Respiratory Therapist (RT) License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an RRT
- Preferred (not required): Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Job Description Highlights

- Perform respiratory therapy procedures using advanced ventilators and oxygen delivery devices
- Provide care in a high-acuity environment with patient ratios ranging from 10 to 25
