Mammography Tech - Radiology

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Join a large breast imaging center with an average of 10 techs on site daily. The unit performs approximately 38 screening mammograms and 18 diagnostic mammograms per day. The center uses GE Senographe Pristina equipment and documents with Cerner and Penrad systems.

Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with Saturdays 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM as needed. Floating to other breast centers may be required.

This role requires experience working in a women’s imaging center, with sensitivity to patients who have a history of cancer and treatments such as lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation.


Procedures Performed

  • Screening mammograms
  • Diagnostic mammograms including magnification and spot compression views
  • Stereotactic biopsies
  • Pre-surgical localizations
  • Contrast Enhanced Mammography

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Mammography Technologist license in North Carolina
  • ARRT Radiography (R) certification
  • ARRT Mammography (M) certification meeting MQSA standards
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 2+ years of Mammography Tech (Radiology) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working in a women’s imaging center
  • Screening mammogram experience
  • Competency with additional mammography imaging views, including magnification and spot compression views
  • Experience with advanced mammography imaging
  • Ability to competently demonstrate and show radiologists complicated mammographic cases
  • Competency in invasive and sterile procedures
