Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 26 weeks


Job Description

Seeking a well-rounded Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer skilled in a variety of exams. The role involves performing over 50% vascular scans, pediatrics, general ultrasound, emergency department (ED), operating room (OR), and assisting with invasive exams.

Procedures Performed

  • General ultrasound
  • Vascular scans including:
    • Carotids
    • Venous upper and lower extremities
    • Arterial upper and lower extremities
    • Vascular abdomen
    • Renal artery
    • Vein mapping upper and lower extremities
    • AV fistulas/grafts

Equipment Used

  • Logiq E9
  • Logiq E10
  • Dolphin TCD Machine
  • Parks-ABI machine

Documentation Systems

  • Cerner
  • PACS

Scheduling & Floating

  • Weekday staffing includes multiple sonographers across shifts
  • Floating may be required to Interventional Radiology (IR) and Emergency Room (ER)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer in Radiology, including experience within the last year
  • Ability to perform 50% or greater vascular scans
  • Pediatrics ultrasound scanning experience
  • Emergency Department (ED) ultrasound scanning experience
  • Operating Room (OR) ultrasound scanning and assisting experience
  • Ability to assist with invasive exams
  • Certifications:
    • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or ARRT (S)
    • RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) – advanced vascular skills required
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
