Job Opportunity: Labor & Delivery RN

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Position Details

  • Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Specialty: Labor & Delivery
  • Shift: Nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (36 hours/week)
  • Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, every 3rd weekend
  • Patient Ratios:
    • 1:1 ratio in active labor
    • 1:3 ratio in high-risk OB

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of direct labor and delivery experience (highest required years of experience)
  • Current RN license appropriate for Nebraska
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Preferred but not required:
    • Fetal Monitoring certification
    • In-Patient OB certification
    • BSN degree
    • NCC certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)

Additional Information

  • Extensions may be possible
  • Duo assignments accepted
  • Facility is a Magnet Hospital with Perinatal Certification from the Joint Commission
  • The position requires the ability to start as soon as possible

Notes on NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification

  • Application can be submitted anytime; processing takes about 4 weeks
  • Eligibility letters sent twice monthly
  • Exam scheduling windows and testing centers available nationwide
  • Certification date is based on official results mailing date
