Job Opportunity: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 14 weeks)
Job Description
- Float pool assignment required.
- Must have recent experience using EPIC electronic health records within the last 12 months.
- Block schedules may be considered on a case-by-case basis (please specify if needed).
- Solid black scrubs required.
Required Qualifications
- License: Current and valid RN license in Ohio.
- Education: ASN or BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of recent RN experience in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry settings.
- Certifications:
- ACLS (American Heart Association only, AHA RQI acceptable)
- BLS (American Heart Association only, AHA RQI acceptable)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification through Apex, Health Stream, or AHA
- Must provide documentation of EPIC usage within the last 12 months.
- Resume must include Return to Office (RTO) availability with no more than 7 days off.
Required Health and Compliance Credentials (Must be current and verifiable)
- COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses if applicable) with approved medical or religious exemptions considered case-by-case.
- MMR immunity (titer or 2 adult vaccines; boosters required if negative titer).
- Hepatitis B immunity (titer or complete vaccine series; boosters required if negative titer).
- Influenza vaccine (required October through April; medical or religious exemptions require agency approval).
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with specific timing requirements; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella immunity (titer or 2 adult vaccines; boosters required if negative titer).
- Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years (recommended).
- Annual TB questionnaire completed and signed.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually.
- Fit test for N95 respirators within one year of start, updated annually.
- Pre-employment physical within one year confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
Professional Requirements
- Criminal background check compliant with FCRA standards, including 7-year search and nationwide checks, completed within 90 days of start.
- OIG and EPLS federal exclusion checks within 90 days of start.
- Primary source verification of nursing license and education.
- Completion of unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists annually.
- Completion of EKG and Telemetry exams with passing scores within one year.
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, and OSHA topics within 90 days of start, updated annually.
- Submission of a complete RN packet including required checklists and signatures.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to start unless exempted.
- Only candidates with no more than 7 days of Return to Office (RTO) availability will be considered.
- Block scheduling requests should be noted in comments during application.
