Description
Radiology Technologist Travel Position
Location: Reno, Nevada
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures of the human body.
- Produce optimal diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care.
- Operate imaging equipment and related machinery safely and competently.
- Verify and execute physicians’ orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams.
- Ensure proper patient preparation and safety during procedures.
- Assist other modalities within the department as needed.
- Perform diagnostic imaging in OR Suite, Trauma Suite, and portable radiography independently by 90 days.
- May be required to float within the department up to competency level.
- Schedule includes 4x10 shifts (Saturday-Monday, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM), weekends, holidays, and possible call shifts.
- May be required to work major holidays and pick up additional shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Nevada
- Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Fluoroscopy (Fluoro) experience
Work Environment
- Extremely busy, fast-paced Level 2 trauma center environment.
- Hospital serves a large regional area with high patient volume.
- Exposure to neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
- Must meet age-specific competency standards and provide individualized patient care.
Additional Information
- Position requires competency in multiple imaging modalities and the ability to adapt to various patient needs.
- Responsibilities include patient history acquisition, informed consent documentation, quality improvement activities, and supply management.
- The role involves collaboration with radiologists to optimize image quality and patient safety.
- The facility is a high-acuity center with advanced imaging technologies and trauma services.
