Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Reno, Nevada

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide optimal patient care using nursing knowledge and skills within the nursing process. Accountable for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care. Deliver comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers.

Responsibilities include:

• Diagnosing and treating human responses to health problems.
• Providing patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Meeting unit/department age-specific competency standards.
• Coordinating care with other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Exercising judgment and decision-making to ensure safe patient care.
• Floating to other areas within competency as needed.
• Picking up one additional shift during the schedule period.
• Working varied schedules including weekends, holidays, and some call shifts.

Shift Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Call Requirements: None

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nevada
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification

Additional Information

• Travelers may be required to float to other units within their competency level.
• Schedule may vary based on department needs.
• The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts with 48 hours' notice due to low census during the 13-week contract.

• Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Specialty Requirements

• Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience: Minimum 2 years required

This position requires intensive continuous mental effort to provide safe and effective patient care.
