Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU

Location: Reno, Nevada

Position Overview

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a Medical ICU setting. Accountable for individualized patient outcomes throughout the episode of care. Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed.

Unit Description

• 8-bed Medical ICU
• Chest pain accredited center (no cath lab or IR on-site)
• Set group of intensivists rotating weekly with 24/7 on-call coverage during the week
• ICU Charge RN also serves as Rapid Response RN

Shift Details

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Nights: 18:45 - 07:15)
• 36 guaranteed hours weekly
• No call requirements
• May be required to float within competency level
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Eve + Day = 1 holiday)
• May be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nevada
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience, including ICU experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification

Additional Information

• Travelers may be subject to schedule changes or call-offs with 48 hours’ notice due to census fluctuations
• Intensive continuous mental effort required for safe patient care and decision-making
• Patient population includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with complex critical care needs
