Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Home Health
Location: Dover, Delaware
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
- Directly supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
- Average patient load: 5-8 patients per day.
- Types of visits include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
- Must have reliable transportation and a current driver's license.
- Willingness to travel up to 75 miles from home clinic; minimum travel approximately 250 miles per week.
- Schedule typically Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM; some locations may have alternate shift schedules (e.g., 4x10s Friday-Monday).
- On-call required approximately 7 days per month.
- Weekend requirements vary by location and must be discussed during interview.
- Charting system: Proficiency in HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) required; RNs must be proficient in OASIS.
- Local candidates accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Delaware.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Home Health experience within the last year.
- Experience working with adult patients in a Home Health setting.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Proficiency with HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and OASIS documentation systems.
Productivity Expectations
- 30 units per week.
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Must complete various background checks including:
- 7-year work and residence history.
- Sex offender registry.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM.
- State-specific background checks as applicable.
- Fingerprinting required prior to start (varies by state).
- Education verification required.
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Immunization or titer proof for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
- Drug screening (10-panel) required.
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination required.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required.
- Must review and sign various compliance, confidentiality, and policy documents prior to start.
- Must complete Home Health or Hospice specific policy quizzes and scenario reviews as applicable.
Work Environment
- Dress code: Scrubs.
- Work primarily in patient homes within assigned territory (New Castle and Kent counties).
- Documentation and charting done electronically via HomeCare HomeBase.
