Job Opportunity: Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Description

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly, documenting in clinical records per regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services as needed; make referrals based on outcomes.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding speech disorders.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members about patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
• Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Document all required information accurately in electronic systems and maintain patient records per policy.
• Record treatment minutes in accordance with regulatory and clinical standards.
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation meetings.
• Attend facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences.
• Obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as required.
• Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or Student Speech-Language Pathologists.
• Adhere to ASHA and State practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP), with at least 1 year of SLP experience required.
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings is required.
• New graduates are considered if they have completed Level II experience (beyond Level I observation).
• Active Texas State License for Speech-Language Pathology is required.
• Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is required.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
