Mammography Tech

Location: Murray, Utah
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Summary

• Perform radiographic mammography procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images for detecting breast tissue abnormalities.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising judgment, creativity, and initiative.
• Ensure proper patient identification and order verification; prepare patients for exams.
• Conduct mammography exams per protocol, including advanced procedures such as stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, and drainages.
• Operate mammographic equipment to produce diagnostic images of high quality.
• Use radiation protection measures to ensure safety and comply with ALARA program requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of new procedures and equipment.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage, in compliance with regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated competency in patient positioning for mammography.
• Knowledgeable about breast self-examinations and able to provide patient education.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, speaking, standing, and walking.
• Must wear a personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) for exposure tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in imaging or mammography.

• Maintain records as required by regulatory bodies.
• Radiation badge use is mandatory; prior exposure history may not be reflected if a new badge is issued.
