Cardiovascular Cath Lab Tech

Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: Approximately 7 weeks


Job Summary

The Cardiovascular Tech will assist physicians with a variety of cardiovascular procedures including:

  • Cardiac Catheterization
  • Angioplasty
  • Atherectomy
  • TEC
  • Rotablator
  • Valvuloplasty
  • Intra-vascular Ultrasound
  • Pulmonary Angiograms
  • Insertion of intra-aortic balloon pumps and stents (coronary and biliary)

Additional responsibilities include preparing sterile trays, patient preparation, assisting during procedures, operating power injectors, maintaining digital cine technology standards, supporting emergency situations, assisting with vascular closure devices, inventory control, and equipment maintenance. The role requires physical stamina including lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.

The position also involves adapting care to meet the specific needs of diverse patient populations.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) or an invasive procedure area in an acute care hospital
  • Completion of at least 6 months in a Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) accredited program or 2 years of experience in another cardiac vascular laboratory
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Cardiac Catheterization procedures
  • Experience with CCL Scrub techniques
