Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: San Marcos, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse practices independently in a similar clinical setting, providing both routine and complex nursing care. The role involves managing long-range goals, coping with clinical contingencies, and delegating tasks appropriately to other care providers.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments according to protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience within the last year
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Work Schedule

Full-time, 7 AM to 7 PM shift.

Additional Notes

No prior travel experience required.
