Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Electrophysiology

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

The Special Procedures Tech I assists physicians with arteriograms and other specialized radiologic procedures under sterile technique for diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include preparing the examination area, positioning patients, operating complex radiology equipment, and assisting physicians by passing materials and taking exposures as directed. The role requires knowledge and skills to provide appropriate patient care across different age groups.

Unit Details

• Unit size: 11 employees
• Electrophysiologists: 4
• Procedure rooms: 2
• Procedure volume: Approximately 5-10 procedures per day
• Schedule: Monday to Friday department; rotating Saturday call (8 AM - 1 PM)
• Staffing ratio: 5 techs and 6 RNs; 4 x 10 hour shifts with weekend and night call

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Additional Information

• Orientation includes 12 non-billable hours
• Call off policy allows the equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty
• Local rate adjustments apply for clinicians living within 50 miles (not relevant for pay details here)
