Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Petaluma, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shifts: Variable shifts, 10 hours per day, 4 days a week, including 1 weekend day (weekend required depending on schedule and department needs)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Experience Required: Must have experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty
- License: California state license preferred; pending license accepted
- Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days

Required Qualifications
- Valid X-Ray Technician license in California
- Minimum of 1 year of X-Ray Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Operating Room (OR) settings is a plus
Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (if applicable)
- IV Certification (if applicable)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) (if applicable)
- State License - Copy of Professional License (CPDH Certificate required for RTs in CA)
- NURSYS Verification (for RNs)
Note: Certification requirements depend on specialty and clinical track.
Required Health Documents
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit Mask test (annual requirement for travel starts on or after 2/5/2024)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with declination option
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with declination option
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine or declination during flu season (9/1–3/30)
- COVID vaccine or declination
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Various state-specific background checks and registry searches as applicable
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (if required by unit)
- Specialty-specific competency exams (e.g., EFM training for L&D RNs)
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are welcome
- No prior travel experience required
- May be required to float to other nearby facilities within a reasonable distance
- Various mandatory training modules and regulatory requirements must be completed annually via the employer’s LMS platform
- Facility issues radiation badges for applicable units
This position offers an opportunity to work in an acute care setting with flexible scheduling and support for licensure and credentialing. Candidates should be prepared to meet comprehensive health, background, and competency requirements to ensure compliance and patient safety.
