Location: Seattle, Washington

Job Description
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Cath Lab unit. This is a travel contract position requiring prior scrub experience and a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience. First-time travelers are not accepted for this role.
Work Environment & Unit Details
- Procedures room with 3 cath labs and one hybrid OR
- Work settings include Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Labs (required) and Special Procedures (preferred)
Required Skills & Procedures
Cardiac Cath Lab Procedures (required):
- Cardiac Stent Placement
- Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
- IABP Placement/Removal
- Impella insertion
- Left and Right heart catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Rotablader atherectomy
- Temporary Pacemaker
- Ventricular Assist Device Insertion
Preferred Procedures:
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
- Pulmonary Artery (PA) line insertion
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/replacement (TAVI/TAVR)
- Watchman device
Equipment and Devices (required):
- Fluoroscopy (Siemens)
Procedural Responsibilities (required):
- Accurate patient monitoring
- Equipment setup
- EKG lead placement
- Prep access site
- Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Room circulator and scrub role maintaining sterile field
- Use of Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose, StarClose)
Professional Knowledge and Skills:
- Isolation Precautions (required)
- Use of Rapid Response team (preferred)
Call and Shift Requirements
- Call required: Yes
- Typical call schedule: 6 evenings and 1 weekend per 6 weeks
- Weekend shifts: Typically one weekend per 6 weeks on standby, must respond within 30 minutes of callback
Systems Used
- Medication system: Pyxis
- Documentation systems: EPIC, McKesson
- Communication method: SBAR
Additional Information
- Scrubs provided
- All units with on-call requirements have a 30-minute response time standard
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Washington
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience, including Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Current certifications:
- ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP certification
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents:
- TDAP within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator fit testing (annual) required for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
Training & Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Competency exams and skills checklists updated annually
- Facility and specialty-specific WorkRamp modules and regulatory training (annual completion required)
- Epic training modules as required by unit and region
Notes
- Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities
- Must be able to respond to call within 30 minutes
- This position requires a high level of technical skill and prior travel experience in Cath Lab nursing
