Job Details

• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Floating: Yes, may float between units
• On-call: No
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Block Schedules: No
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 or 1:3
• Special Requirements: Neuro ICU experience preferred if available
• 48-hour shifts: Not approved

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Additional Requirements

• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable ICU setting within the last 3 years
• Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment history
• Skills Checklist: Annual update required for applicable units
• Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may float to other units within reasonable distance
• Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with neutral background required prior to start

Scheduling & Work Environment

• Dress code: Solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs for licensed nursing personnel
• Free parking available in designated employee/visitor lots

Training & Competency

• Completion of required WorkRamp modules annually, including:

  • Regulatory requirements
  • Specialty-specific modules for ICU
  • Trauma-informed care (effective for new and extended placements)
• Epic system training modules required for some regions (if applicable)

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Contract length is interpreted as 16 weeks.
• Neuro ICU experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Floating between units is expected.
