Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts, Thursday through Saturday (17:00 - 05:30)
- Call Requirement: None
- Float Requirement: None
- Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Work Setting Experience: Outpatient, Inpatient, ER, Adult ICU, Community Hospital
- General Setting Experience: PACS, Contrast
- Special Procedures/Unit Details:
- 3rd shift tech works independently (occasional operations assistant may be on duty but not guaranteed)
- Must be competent on Siemens (Avanto and Sola) and GE Premier MRI equipment
- Unit Systems: EPIC, Visage (PACS)
- Orientation: 1 week first shift, then assessed for independence
- Scrubs: Royal Blue tops and bottoms
- Daily Caseload: Approximately 40 patients across 3 rooms
Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT(R) or ARRT(MR) certification
- Experience working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- MRI procedure experience including:
- Diffusion (non-brain)
- Gradient Echo Imaging
- Image Post-Processing
- Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP)
- Multiplanar Reconstruction (MRP)
- Perfusion
- Peripheral Magnetic Resonance
Additional Information
- RTO (Return to Office) Policy: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and Do Not Rebook (DNR) status.
- Interview: Candidates must provide interview availability within 72 hours; manager will not offer without speaking to the candidate first.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
Candidates must provide or complete the following prior to or at start:
- Background check (within 6 months for clinical candidates)
- Drug testing (9-panel, within 6 months)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) or proof of past positive TB with appropriate documentation
- Immunizations and titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Physical exam (as per travel agency standards)
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Photo for badge (passport style, solid white background, business attire)
- Various facility-specific compliance forms and training modules (including confidentiality agreement, medication safety, annual compliance training, and orientation modules)
- Radiation badge if applicable (for radiology-related roles)
Notes for Recruiters and Candidates
- This is a night shift position with a fixed schedule (Thursday-Saturday nights).
- No call or float responsibilities.
- First-time travel MRI techs are welcome.
- Must be proficient with specific MRI equipment (Siemens Avanto and Sola, GE Premier).
- Strict RTO policy; adherence is critical to avoid cancellation.
- Orientation includes a week of first shift training before moving to nights and independent work.
