Registered Nurse – Float Pool (Nights)

Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with strong ICU and extensive Cardiac experience to work primarily in ICU units including Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, with flexibility to float to Medical Surgical as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following nursing standards, policies, and state laws.
• Document patient care according to standards.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans as prescribed.
• Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance activities.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support patient care across units.
• Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical experience, including experience within the last year
• Extensive Cardiac experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
