Job Opportunity: SICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (SICU)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years (Manager prefers 4 years)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
- Shift: 4 shifts of 12 hours each (4x12s)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Schedule Requirements:
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Schedule may be adjusted to unit needs
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License: Not accepted (must have DC license in hand to submit)

- Must have a valid District of Columbia RN license prior to start
- License must be primary source verified and not expire within 30 days of start

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in District of Columbia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of SICU RN experience
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Background check: 7-year criminal history, nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 3
- Drug screening: 9-panel within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
- Physical exam: Initial and annual, must meet physical demands of position
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination form
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination form)
- Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- Flu vaccine required annually (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (booster preferred, exemptions subject to approval)
- Fit mask testing within 1 year, updated annually
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency required as applicable
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Employment application and skills checklist required
