Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Atlantis, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 558 (acute care medical/surgical facility)
- Staff: 5-8 total; 2-4 RRTs plus per diem help
- Shifts:
- Day: Supervisor RRT plus 4-8 RRTs
- Night: Supervisor plus 4-8 RRTs
- Patient Ratios: Vary
- Equipment Used: Oxygen cylinders, nebulizer, suction machine, CPAP & BiPAP machines, V60, Servo-1 and Servo-U, High flow devices
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Call Requirements: As needed
Job Description
- Provide treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, including asthma, pneumonia, and emphysema.
- Work in a fast-paced acute care environment specializing in cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, and bariatrics.
- Collaborative work with physicians and active disciplinary approach encouraged.
- Facility is a teaching hospital recognized nationally for quality care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Florida
- Respiratory Therapist with 2 years of experience
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NBRC certification
- NRP certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Stroke education and experience
- Experience with Meditech documentation system preferred but not required
- Ability to adapt easily to a fast-paced unit and function independently
