Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Winfield, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• 3 shifts of 12 hours each, nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Set schedule rotation, typically 3 nights in a row depending on department needs
• Every other weekend off (with occasional variations, advance notice provided)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications required (issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association where applicable):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of identity with government-issued photo ID
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SS trace, sex offender registry, and education verification
• E-Verify documentation
• Primary source verification of nursing license (NURSYS verification required)
• Proof of required certifications and competencies
• Physical exam verifying ability to meet job demands, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (10-panel within 1 year, updated annually)
• Annual flu vaccination or documented declination for medical/religious reasons
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Completed employment application/resume
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit
• Performance evaluations if applicable (from previous employers or internal evaluations)

Additional Notes

• No radius restrictions for local candidates
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgements required
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing required

This position is ideal for experienced ER nurses who meet the certification and licensure requirements and are comfortable with night shifts and a rotating weekend schedule.
