Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Cath Lab Tech with a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience in Radiology/Cardiology. This position requires prior travel experience as first-time travelers are not accepted.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Labs (3 cath labs and one hybrid OR).
- Perform cardiac catheterization procedures including:
- Cardiac Stent Placement
- Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
- IABP Placement/Removal
- Impella insertion
- Left and Right heart catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Rotablader athrectomy
- Temporary Pacemaker
- Ventricular Assist Device Insertion
- Use of fluoroscopy equipment (Siemens).
- Procedural duties including equipment setup, EKG lead placement, prepping access sites, sterile field maintenance, and vascular closure systems.
- Accurate monitoring and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias.
- Participate as room circulator and scrub tech.
- Follow isolation precautions and utilize SBAR communication.
Work Schedule
- Call required: Typically 6 evenings and 1 weekend per 6 weeks.
- Weekend shifts: Typically one weekend per 6 weeks on standby with a 30-minute response time.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist
- Cath Lab Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Cath Lab Technologist
- Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
Preferred Skills
- Experience with special procedures such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Pulmonary Artery line insertion, Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/replacement (TAVI/TAVR), and Watchman device.
- Use of rapid response teams.
Additional Information
- Scrubs provided.
- Must be able to float to other nearby facilities if required.
- Physical exam, drug screening, immunizations (including flu, COVID, TB, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella), and background checks required per state and facility regulations.
- Completion of required regulatory and specialty-specific training modules prior to start.
- References and employment history verification required.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, including SSN trace, education verification, and state-specific searches.
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and others as applicable.
- Health documents including physical exam, immunizations, drug testing, and respirator clearance.
- Completion of competency exams and skills checklists as applicable.
- Completion of WorkRamp training modules for regulatory and specialty-specific requirements.
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with prior travel contract experience looking to work in a high-acuity cardiac catheterization lab environment in Seattle, WA.
