Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the Respiratory Services team at a large acute care hospital. The facility is a regional referral center with advanced care capabilities including Level II trauma, comprehensive stroke center, Level III neonatal intensive care, and a busy robotic surgery program.
Unit Information
- Unit: Respiratory Services
- Number of Beds: 854
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 15-20 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
- Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
- Patient Ratios: 10-25 patients per therapist
- Equipment Used:
- GE R860 Adult ventilators
- Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
- Newport HT70 transport ventilator
- V60 Non-invasive ventilation device
- Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
Schedule & Work Environment
- Varying weekends required (at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
- Floating to all critical care units and floors
- Dress code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in North Carolina
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy, including experience within the last year
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
Additional Information
- Typical procedures performed align with critical care and neonatal/pediatric respiratory therapy
- Candidates without the required license and certifications will not be considered
