Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer

Location: Cortez, Colorado

Job Summary

Provide quality patient care and diagnostic information through skilled and compassionate diagnostic medical sonography. Perform imaging procedures, communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers, and maintain professional standards in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule

• Days, Monday through Thursday
• 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• No call, no weekends

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
• Registered or eligible to become registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography
• Current BLS certification

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and document pertinent patient and procedure data
• Explain procedures clearly to patients, families, and healthcare providers
• Perform diagnostic sonography with professional judgment and discretion
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety, infection control, and ethical standards
• Use imaging systems and software appropriately for quality patient care
• Participate in performance improvement activities and departmental meetings
• Handle patient concerns professionally and compassionately

Skills and Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Basic computer proficiency
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations without bias

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Medium physical strength required (lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally)
• Frequent movement including kneeling, crouching, reaching, and repetitive motion
• Exposure to infectious waste, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and occasional aggressive patients
• Possible exposure to environmental elements such as heat, cold, rain, and wind
• Ability to accommodate vision and hearing requirements necessary for detailed diagnostic work
