Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position in Neuro-Interventional Radiology performing diagnostic cerebral angiograms including coiling, stenting, embolizations, and stroke thrombectomies.
  • Additional procedures include venous samplings, operating room angiograms, lumbar punctures, and other neurovascular-related procedures.
  • Work involves operating a Siemens Bi-plane system for neurovascular image acquisition, post-processing images, and circulating cases.
  • Scrub experience is not required.
  • Department performs some pediatric procedures.
  • Collaborate with a team of neuroradiologists and neurosurgeons.

Schedule

  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (07:30 - 18:00)
  • Daily caseload: 6-8 procedures per technologist
  • Call required: Weeknight call rotation and weekend call rotation (weekend call Friday 16:00 through Monday 07:30)
  • Call shifts scheduled approximately 3-4 times in a 13-week assignment
  • Floating within service line may be required; no floating to sister facilities
  • Local radius rule: 75 miles
  • Pending state license accepted
  • No block schedule accommodation
  • No locals accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with at least 1 year of Neuro-Interventional Radiology experience
  • For first-time Interventional Radiology Technologists, a minimum of 2 years of Neuro-Interventional Radiology experience is required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • ARRT Radiography (R) certification or ARRT (R) required
  • Must be able to meet call requirements

  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Scrub colors: Black, Red, or White

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued ID required
  • Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
  • Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification required prior to start
  • Professional license primary source verification required
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start, must remain valid throughout assignment
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask testing required annually (N95 respirators)
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tdap vaccine or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • Various facility-specific compliance documents including HIPAA, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code, and latex allergy questionnaires must be completed prior to start
  • Competency exams and unit-specific skills checklists required and must be updated annually

Additional Notes

  • Weekend call is required but weekend shifts are not regularly scheduled
  • Floating within the service line may be required to meet facility needs
  • Orientation and parking information will be provided; parking fees may apply for day/night rotations
  • References: Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year
  • Employment application and performance evaluations may be required
