Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates patient care delivery focusing on oncology patients. Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing patients and identifying nursing diagnoses based on health responses
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans
  • Evaluating patient responses to care
  • Assisting patients through healthcare encounters to avoid preventable complications or delays
  • Delegating interventions according to nursing practice regulations and patient condition
  • Serving as a patient advocate, respecting patient rights, confidentiality, and cultural preferences
  • Providing education and training to patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Performing patient assessments related to cancer care, including allergies, physical symptoms, psychosocial and financial factors across the continuum of care (diagnosis, treatment, surveillance, end of life)
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
  • Serving as a preceptor or trainer for new nursing staff
  • Serving as Charge Nurse on rotation as needed
  • Acting as a role model and resource for oncology nursing

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 24 months of current Oncology nursing experience
  • Experience with EPIC Beacon and Chemotherapy Infusion
  • ONS chemotherapy biotherapy provider certificate
  • Active Texas RN license or Compact license
  • Active American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Must disclose any previous employment history with the facility
  • Resume and skills checklist specific to oncology discipline
  • Two supervisory references from within the last year
  • Proof of taxable address documentation

Work Schedule & Conditions

  • Work week: Wednesday through Tuesday
  • Overtime and holiday pay apply (not included here)
  • Minimum 2 hours applies to any callback services
  • No unbillable orientation hours
  • Cancellation policy allows up to 3 shift cancellations per 13 weeks
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted
