Job Opportunity: Nuclear Med Tech
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Work Type: Full Time
Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, supports other imaging technologists, and helps facilitate efficient patient flow. The role requires flexibility to work different shifts or locations as needed. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, participating in quality assurance, maintaining radiation safety protocols, and adhering to imaging competencies and safety standards. The technologist will also participate in ongoing education and technical advancements within their licensure scope.
Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures and assist with patient throughput.
- Support radiologists and referring physicians to promote physician satisfaction.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all duties.
- Adapt patient care methods to meet individual physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs.
- Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with appropriate personnel for repairs.
- Manage image archiving and ensure proper scanning and storage of completed exams.
- Serve as a PACS Superuser during downtime and escalate issues as needed.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work other shifts or locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Louisiana
- Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine Technology
- State licensure: LRT (N) or LRT (F)
- BLS certification
