Job Summary

Seeking a Physical Therapist specializing in Acute Care for a short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds and Level II Trauma Center designation. The position involves a 1:1 patient ratio and does not require floating between units, on-call duties, weekends, or block schedules.

Work Environment

• Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care Hospital
• Dress Code: Solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs for licensed nursing personnel; print tops not allowed except in specific pediatric and women's services units.
• Parking: Free in unrestricted employee/visitor lots.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
• Physical Therapist with a minimum of 1 year of experience
• Physical Therapist experience within the last year

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, updated annually.
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination form.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
  • COVID vaccine or declination.
• Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates.
• References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.

Training and Competency

• Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:

  • Annual regulatory requirements.
  • Specialty-specific modules as applicable.
  • Facility-specific modules prior to start.
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.
• Epic training modules may be required depending on assignment location.

Additional Notes

• No floating between units.
• No on-call, weekend, or block schedule requirements.
• 1:1 patient care ratio expected.
• Badge photo required for facility identification.
• Must comply with facility-specific float policy acknowledgment.
