Registered Nurse - NICU (New Jersey, Voorhees)

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Required to float within 5 hospitals based on needs (within skillset).
  • Experience Level: Level III NICU with 2-3 years of specialty experience required.
  • Experience with micro preemies and high frequency ventilation.
  • Patient ratio: 1:2.
  • Practices couplet care; a Stork RN is on each shift.
  • Every Other Week (EOW) schedule, no on-call required.
  • Epic experience preferred.
  • Navy blue scrubs required.
  • First-time travelers accepted but not preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Level III NICU experience.
  • Experience working with neonate patients, including micro preemies and managing high frequency ventilation.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required for all clinical candidates.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for applicable units.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required for NICU, L&D, Mother Baby, SCN.
  • State RN license verification and NURSYS verification required.
  • Dysrhythmia competency testing required for certain units (not specifically NICU).
  • Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG.
  • Drug screening: 10 panel drug screen without THC within 6 months of start, updated annually.
  • Physical exam within last 12 months.
  • Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation (required before first shift).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
  • Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season.
  • Eye exam with visual acuity 20/40 or better.
  • Latex questionnaire required.
  • Professional references: 2 required within last 2 years.
  • Employment application and skills checklist required.
  • Work history verification required for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start date).

Additional Information

  • Return to Office (RTO) documentation required at time of submission; late submissions not accepted.
  • Floating required within multiple hospital locations.
  • Local rate adjustment applies for candidates living within 50 miles (pay details excluded).

This position is ideal for experienced NICU RNs with strong neonatal skills, especially in caring for micro preemies and managing high frequency ventilation, who are comfortable floating across multiple hospital sites. Prior travel experience is not required but preferred.
