Job Opportunity: OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Variable shifts including nights, 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts.
• Call required Monday through Friday from 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
• Weekend shifts on Saturday and Sunday are 12 hours (7:00 PM to 6:30 AM) with call.
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required based on unit needs.
• Experience required in the following areas:

  • Neurosurgery
  • Spine
  • Complex Orthopedics/Ortho Spine
  • Complex General Surgery including Bariatric surgery
• Call and weekend requirements are mandatory.
• Required experience includes Level I Trauma and Neuro.
• Preferred experience includes ENT, GU, Plastics, and Burns.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience in Neurosurgery, Spine, Complex Orthopedics/Ortho Spine, Complex General Surgery (including Bariatric surgery), Level I Trauma, and Neuro.

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership.
• Employment application and skills checklist required.
• Fingerprinting must be completed using Ohio BCI & FBI codes with results obtained prior to start.
• Candidates must comply with dress code and hand hygiene policies.
• Fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually.
• Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and acknowledged annually.
• NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit assignment.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for all RNs within 1 year of start (not applicable for this role but noted for RN positions).

• Facility-specific policies and documentation must be adhered to.
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required but strongly recommended; proof of primary vaccination should be collected if available.

This position is ideal for experienced Surgical Technologists with a strong background in trauma and neuro surgery, comfortable with variable shifts and call responsibilities, and who meet the comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
