Surgery Tech Position

Location: Miles City, Montana
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure.
• Function under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and report to Surgical Services management.
• Support surgical operations initiatives and safety plans system-wide.
• Actively participate in the surgical operations safety plan.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain accountability for ensuring the operating room and all surgical items meet sterilization criteria.
• Maintain the sterile field and ensure a safe environment.
• Recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes.
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures.
• Assist with sterile processing as needed.
• Assist the surgeon(s) during procedures within the Surgery Tech scope of practice.
• Identify emergency situations and exercise judgment when responding to emergencies.
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety.
• Knowledge of surgical services and sterile processing.
• Ability to recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes.
• Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
• Experience supporting surgeries within a surgical team.
• Experience in life support situations related to surgical care.
• Experience in sterile field management and sterilization processes.
• Experience in supervision within surgical services (within Surgery Tech scope).
