Description
Radiology Tech
Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging examinations.
- Explain procedures and respond to patient questions.
- Perform diagnostic radiological procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Assist Radiologist and/or Fluoro Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedures.
- Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Move portable radiographic equipment within various hospital departments including Emergency, Operating Room, PACU, and Nursing.
- Use proper sterile technique during procedures in the Operating Room and Radiology department.
- Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast media; manage contrast reactions and documentation.
- Document patient symptoms, history, imaging limitations, and study details in PACS.
- Maintain radiation safety practices consistent with ALARA standards.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff.
- Perform clerical duties related to workflow monitoring, quality assurance, and office tasks as needed.
- Assist with training radiology students on policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT®) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year.
Additional Information
- Must demonstrate appropriate radiation safety practices.
- Ability to work evenings as indicated by the original shift title.
