Job Opportunity: Speech/Lang Pathologist II

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide inpatient and outpatient dysphagia, speech, and language services to infants and children with neurological, developmental, and medically based communication and feeding/swallowing disorders. Responsibilities include clinical assessments and interventions, performing video-fluoroscopic swallow studies, consulting with medical and therapy personnel, and educating patients, families, healthcare professionals, and students. Inpatient rehabilitation experience is preferred.


Job Functions

  • Independently evaluate patients with communication disorders (speech, language, oral motor dysfunction) using standardized and non-standardized tools.
  • Record evaluation findings according to departmental procedures.
  • Refer patients to medical and educational services as appropriate.
  • Develop individualized therapy plans with treatment goals.
  • Update goals and document patient progress.
  • Present and explain evaluation findings and recommendations to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Instruct family members and caregivers in home therapy programs.
  • Consult with healthcare and educational staff to support patient communication skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in Pennsylvania
  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Minimum of 1 year of licensed experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • High level of analytical skill to work independently to identify and plan resolution of problems encountered in clinical and research duties
  • High level of skill in various assessment procedures pertaining to speech and language skills in the pediatric population

Additional Skills

  • Basic research skills including understanding of research methodology, design, and statistics.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time (40 hours per week) preferred, but part-time candidates will be considered.
  • Possibility for contract extension or conversion based on business needs.
